Agartala AMC Reviews Preparations for ‘Maayer Gomon’, Mayor Dipak Majumder Chairs Meeting
Agartala, Tripura: Preparations for the upcoming ‘Maayer Gomon’ programme in Agartala have entered their final stage, with the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) reviewing arrangements to ensure the event is conducted peacefully and smoothly.
A review meeting was held at the AMC conference hall under the chairmanship of AMC Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder. The programme is being jointly organised by the Agartala Municipal Corporation and the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs.
During the meeting, Mayor Dipak Majumder said that all necessary arrangements were being made to ensure the successful conduct of the programme, following the tradition of previous years. He emphasised the importance of coordination among the participating clubs, police personnel and officials of the concerned departments.
Security arrangements will include adequate police deployment, barricades in front of City Centre and additional measures to maintain order during the event. The authorities are also focusing on crowd management and traffic regulation to prevent inconvenience to the public.
The Superintendent of Police (Traffic) stated that special attention would be given to preventing disorder and ensuring smooth traffic movement throughout the programme. Necessary steps would also be taken to allow emergency service vehicles to move without obstruction.
The Mayor appealed to all participating clubs and officials from the departments concerned to extend their cooperation and follow the prescribed arrangements to ensure that the programme proceeds without disruption.
During the meeting, Bimbisar Bhattacharya, Director of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, explained the procession route in detail and discussed the arrangements required for its smooth management.
The meeting was attended by AMC Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, AMC Commissioner Saju Vaheed A, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, Smart City CEO G. Sharath Naik, West District Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, Traffic SP Kanta Jangir and senior officials from various departments.
The review meeting highlighted the administration’s focus on security, traffic management, public convenience and interdepartmental coordination to ensure the peaceful and successful organisation of the ‘Maayer Gomon’ programme in Agartala.
